GLBTI FM/Internet Radio Station Fundraiser Radiothon Bringing #JoyToTheWorld

Radiothon-HeaderJOY 94.9 Radiothon2013 Joy To The World is now under way till June 7.

JOY 94.9 is Australia’s LGBTIQ community radio station, broadcasting to Melbourne of 94.9fm, and to the world over the web.

  • JOY is relies on your generous support to survive and thrive, through your memberships and donations.
  • Government subsidies can’t do it: we don’t get any.
  • Sponsorship announcements can’t do it: we’re only allowed to sell five minutes every hour.
  • So JOY runs fundraising events throughout the year.
  • And once a year JOY holds the biggest fundraiser of them all – Radiothon.

This year for the first time you can become a member online! Have your credit card ready and get clicking.

We rely on your memberships & donations to bring JOY To The World!  And that includes The Rainbow Report, the news and current affairs show that I’m proud to bring you every Thursday at 7pm.

You can use the Comments section of the renewal form to let me know you support The Rainbow Report (hint! hint!).

Australian residents can win prizes, too. Everyone who renews or joins from May 31 – June 7 goes in the draw to win a Suzuki Swift, valued at over $21,000, courtesy of proud JOY Sponsor Yarra Suzuki Abbotsford (not available for overseas members).

About the author

Veteran gay writer and speaker, Doug was one of the founders of the UKs pioneering GLBTI newspaper Gay News (1972) , and of the second, Gay Week, and is a former Features Editor of Him International. He presented news and current affairs on JOY 94.9 FM Melbourne for more than ten years. And now he's been nominated for LGBTI Journalist of the Year 2017, which is great news, as he hasn't won any of these things for years! If you want to nominate him too - the more the merrier - you can do it here http://www.australianlgbtiawards.com.au/public-nominations.html"Doug is revered, feared and reviled in equal quantities, at times dividing people with his journalistic wrath. Yet there is no doubt this grandpa-esque bear keeps everyone abreast of anything and everything LGBT across the globe." (Daniel Witthaus, "Beyond Priscilla", Clouds of Magellan, Melbourne, 2014)
