San Francisco protest – Marc Love

Today Parliament was supposed to vote on whether same-sex couples should have the right to marry.

But the old parties teamed up to block the vote on the Green’s bill, potentially the last chance to achieve marriage equality laws before the election.

On TV today in Parliament House in front of the very politicians who are banding together to prevent marriage equality, the Greens are showing this ad.

Marriage equality may have been blocked for now but the Greens will still try to take a step towards marriage equality in Australia.

When Parliament sits again later this month they’ll be pushing to have the marriages of same sex couples who married in other countries recognised in Australia.
